What is ‘Phishing’?
Phishing is the method of sending out fake emails written to appear as if they have been sent by banks or other companies like eBay, with the intent of getting the recipient to reveal sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, account IDs, ATM PINs or credit card details. Typically, phishing attacks will direct the recipient to a web page which will look exactly like the target organization’s webpage and have the same colors and logos. I once got an email which took me to a page that looked like an eBay webpage and asked me for my username and password. I figured it was a fake by looking at the web address on the browser address bar. It did not look anything like an eBay address although they did use the word eBay in the address just to throw people off guard. Be very careful about entering details on a page that is linked from an email. If you want to learn more about Phishing, click on the links below.

MasterCard has confirmed that a hacker got into the systems of Cardsystems Solutions and stole 40 million credit card numbers. Cardsystems Solutions is MasterCard’s Atlanta-based payment processor partner. Now the blame has finally come down onto Microsoft because Cardsystem Solutions had its systems running on Microsoft’s Windows 2000 operating system and IIS Server 5.0. What we are seeing here is how the blame is being pushed from company to company. The way I see it, MasterCard should be blamed for being irresponsible enough to have a partner like Cardsystems Solutions and Cardsystems Solutions should be blamed for not using the right patches or upgrading their software and also
Your cell phone could moonlight as a PDA, a digital camera and an mp3 player and now it is all set to take on another role, your wallet. Simply put, all that a cell phone needs is a chip that could transmit credit card details on demand to a terminal in the supermarket and the transaction is done. In Japan,
FIFA is considering using microchips in footballs at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. This will help match officials confirm whether the ball crossed the goal line or not. The implementation of these microchips will depend on the tests that will be carried out at the under-17 world cup at Peru in September and October. I wonder how this chip will work. What if the part of the ball that doesn’t have the chip crosses the line? Will there be many chips all over the ball? Will they ask Roberto Carlos to go easy on the ball? Hopefully these questions will be answered soon.
For years people have been telling me I should eat slower, chew my food and to tell you the truth, I would follow their advice for a day and then go back to eating at my normal pace. Not to sound like a billionaire with companies all over the world requiring me to work 24 hours a day but, WHO HAS THE TIME? Well, we all do and
The egg blinks at you every 30 seconds telling you its time to take a bite or we can turn on the soft beep option in case you are sitting by the pool during a Sunday afternoon eating what you barbequed and can’t see the blink. I would love to read this manual that costs an extra $14.95. How difficult would it be to follow a 30 second blink? If anyone ever buys this egg, please let me know, I would love to interview you and post your comments on my blog. With good intentions, of course.
It’s the suit. Have you realized that although batman is a superhero, he does not have any super powers? He uses his quick thinking and athletic ability to get the bad guys and of course his suit is a big contributor. You know his bat mobile is fast, his cave – trendy, his sidekick – helpful, his butler – old and his enemies – colorful. But wouldn’t you want to know what the Bat Suit is made of?
