The Suite Vollard in Curitiba, Brazil is supposed to be the world’s first revolving apartment building. It has eleven 3,000 square foot units, each of which occupies a whole floor. The owner of an apartment can rotate the apartment as well as control the speed and direction of the rotation and a 360 degree rotation can take from anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. The bathrooms and kitchens are in the stationary core of the building so that the pipes and wires don’t get twisted. At 300k an apartment, I would prefer to walk to the other side of the apartment if I want a different view but it’s a cool building nonetheless.

who needs a revolving restaurant eh? I can’t imagine it personally… sounds like you’d get dizzy… but hell of a place for a party!
I saw this some time ago. Pretty cool actually. Reminds me of the Jetsons. heh.
oh yeah’ i’ve been to revolving restaurants at tops of hotels … you don’t notice it move at all … just the view changing. It would be comparable to a digital painting with changing works. This one though is a little different since the whole building moves.
This wouldn’t interest me at all. They probably could have cut the prices of those units substantially if they got rid of the revolving function.
300k is all? Dude a Porta-Potty in SF would edge those numbers. Who’s coming to Brazil with me for a carousel ride?

I don’t know… I’m a bit clumsy and I get terrible motion sickness. So with that combination I’d probably be doomed living in an apartment like that…
